WHAT IS SAFE HAVEN?
THE SAFE HAVEN PROGRAM RUN BY 4CHAMP ANIMAL RESCUE IS THE ONLY ONE OF ITS KIND IN SUDBURY, ON.
WE DO NOT BELIEVE THAT PEOPLE WHO ARE GOING THROUGH A TOUGH TIME OR ARE IN A BAD SITUATION SHOULD HAVE TO GIVE UP THEIR ANIMALS OR HAVE THEM TAKEN AWAY.
ANIMALS ARE A GREAT FORM OF THERAPY, GIVE PEOPLE HOME, AND CAN HELP BRING THEM INTO A BETTER PLACE.
Our safe Haven Program ( previously called our (Foster Aid) has helped many pets return to their families. Since the program started in 2015, we have been able to help over 200 pets plus their families make it through life's challenges and stay together.
We aid many women and families who enter women's shelters due to domestic abuse or homelessness. Pets are not allowed at many of these facilities, and statistics show that women in abusive homes will prolong leaving their partners due to having family pets in their homes.
We strive to provide this service to our community and surrounding areas as we don't believe that people going through any hardships should have to surrender their pets.
IS SAFE HAVEN FREE?
ALTHOUGH THE PROGRAM ITSELF DOES NOT COST ANYTHING, WE ASK THAT FOOD AND ANY NECESSARY MEDICAL SUPPLIES ARE PROVIDED FOR THE LENGTH OF THE STAY. WE DO NOT PROVIDE VETERINARY CARE BUT CAN HELP YOU FIND RESOURCES IF NEEDED. ANIMALS ARE NOT REQUIRED TO BE SPAYED/NEUTERED OR VACCINATED TO BE ELIGABLE FOR FOSTER AID.

Mission
The mission of SAFE Haven PROGRAM is to use no-kill principles and education to save our animals’ lives through rescue, adoption, spay / neuter services and community programs.
